
Dr. Eric Palmer, DNP, MHA, RN, CLNC, CPPS, NHDP-BC, earned his BSN from Morningside University, dual master’s degrees in Nursing and Health Administration from the University of Phoenix, and his Doctor of Nursing Practice from Purdue University Global. His doctoral work focused on healthcare systems and eliminating gaps in care transitions through integrated case management.
He holds national certifications as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant (CLNC), Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), and Certified Healthcare Disaster Professional (NHDP-BC).
With over 30 years of nursing experience spanning clinical practice and leadership, Dr. Palmer has a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare landscape. His expertise covers a wide range of issues— from bedside care to accreditation, policy development, and healthcare operations.
A retired U.S. Navy Nurse Corps officer, Dr. Palmer completed 22 years of distinguished service before retiring in 2013. His career has included both clinical and administrative roles in major medical centers, community hospitals, and critical access facilities. While his experience is broad, his clinical focus has long centered on neurological care, with significant exposure to traumatic brain injury during his work with Veterans. He now continues this focus as a member of the NTBIA medical professional group, enhancing his ability to help legal teams understand and address the medical needs of their clients.
Throughout his career, Dr. Palmer has witnessed the evolution of healthcare and understands how systemic changes—both positive and negative—affect patient outcomes. As a former patient safety manager with extensive experience in electronic medical records, he is highly skilled at interpreting EHR/EMR data. With the growing role of artificial intelligence in healthcare, Dr. Palmer’s combined background in AI development and health informatics uniquely equips him to guide legal teams through the complexities of digital health records.
