
Dr. Bagherian is a board-certified chiropractor with over 29 years of specialized experience in soft tissue trauma and mild traumatic brain injuries. He has completed extensive post-doctoral training in injury causation, injury biomechanics, occupant kinematics, human factors, accident reconstruction, functional capacity evaluations, and permanent disability assessment. Dr. Bagherian holds a post-doctoral diplomate from the Academy of Integrative Pain Management and maintains multiple fellowships, including Fellow of the American Board of Disability Analysts and the American Board of Vocational Experts.
In crash-related injury causation matters, Dr. Bagherian holds advanced qualifications in crash investigation, reconstruction, and injury biomechanics. He is certified as both an accident investigator and accident reconstructionist through the Contra Costa Law Enforcement Training Center and holds specialized certifications in low-speed, low-energy rear-impact collisions from the Center for Research into Automotive Safety and Health (CRASH) and the Spine Research Institute of San Diego. From 2000 to 2006, he served as a research assistant and medical examiner in over 75 live crash tests involving instrumented RID dummies and human volunteers conducted under SAE standards. He is an active member of the California Association of Accident Reconstruction Specialists (CA2RS) and has completed additional formal training in reconstruction through this organization.
Dr. Bagherian’s advanced certifications include training in the diagnosis and management of soft tissue injuries and mild traumatic brain injuries through the Spine Research Institute of San Diego, injury biomechanics through UCLA, and human factors analysis through the University of Michigan’s Department of Engineering. He has also completed training in forensic and trauma epidemiology, with emphasis on injury causation analysis, through Radboud University Medical Center in the Netherlands. Dr. Bagherian has also completed a Diploma Course in Forensic Medical Sciences at the Academy of Forensic Medical Sciences (AFMS) in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Bagherian is a certified disability evaluator and has served as a Qualified Medical Examiner for the State of California since 2001. He has acted as an Agreed Medical Examiner since 2003 and performs evaluations for the City and County of San Francisco’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program.
He is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine, American Society of Biomechanics, American Academy of Forensic Sciences, American Board of Vocational Experts, International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals, and the California Chiropractic Association. He previously served five years on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Vocational Experts.
Clinically, Dr. Bagherian has been in private practice for over 29 years and has treated more than 6,000 patients with motor vehicle-related and traumatic injuries. His clinical focus includes orthopedic and musculoskeletal trauma arising from motor vehicle crashes, industrial injuries, and sports injuries. Dr. Bagherian represented the United States as Team USA Doctor at the 2007 Muay Thai World Cup in Thailand and the 2008
TAFISA Games under the International Olympic Committee in South Korea. He has lectured and continues to lecture on injury biomechanics, injury causation, and functional capacity evaluations.
