Paul is a Member, Head of Litigation and General Counsel with BROWN, CROWELL, & FRIEDMAN, PLLC d/b/a ACCIDENT LAW GROUP™, where he litigates significant injury, malpractice, and wrongful death matters. Since he represented the State of Arizona as the Special Assistant to the Attorney General in the tobacco case (1997-2000), he has focused on professional malpractice, traumatic brain & birth injury cases. He is an ethicist dealing with medical, legal, and business issues as a nationally recognized consultant, speaker, writer, and forensic expert. 

Paul was a Superior Court Judge Pro Tempore from 2005-2023 and has been a member of the Attorney Disciplinary Panel since its re-organization in 2011 and a Settlement Conference Officer since 2016. He has served on the Arizona Supreme Court Board of Non-Lawyer Legal Professionals since its inception in 2024 and previously served in the same capacity for the Board of Legal Document Preparers from 2007-2024. He has received Top 100 verdicts in the USA twice.

Paul received a Doctorate of Philosophy in 2006 in the area of comparative ethics. He also received a Master's in Bioethics in 2004, a Juris Doctorate in 1989, and an undergraduate degree in 1985. 

Paul is rated "AV-Preeminent" by Martindale-Hubbell. He was first named as a Super Lawyer® in 2007 and named as a Top Attorney and Top 100 Trial Lawyer since 2010. Paul is an Associate with the American Board of Specialties, and is a Certified Specialist with the National Board of Trial Advocates, as well as Injury and Wrongful Death by the Arizona State Bar Board of Legal Specializations. In addition, he is a Medical Malpractice Diplomate with the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys.
